Why do some of the Christians that should find favor with God, ultimately end up not getting approval and lose the exponential blessings of God´s love? They might not have had the commitment that was needed, in order to reach His highest expectations, and the filling of the Holy Spirit maybe was not forthcoming. But, were you actually looking for a mighty rushing wind that would displace the dwelling you are in and overpower all your senses? Maybe that is not exactly what God had particularly intended for you to receive at this time in your own history. A calm orderliness, finding of solutions, and thorough clearing of the mind might be favorable to an overpowering subjugation by His will. God knows what is best for us, and we need to always trust that He will find the way for us through all the obstacles that are in our way.
I think Paul summed it up perfectly, when he said that the Holy Spirit helps us to communicate with God what we need, that maybe we cannot even actually sometimes put things into words, so our needs are passed on to God spiritually and met according to His will. I do think that we at least need to have a time of prayer when we try to illuminate our needs, fears, and hopes, in order to make tangible the intangible and align the compass of our soul with His directional guidance. I believe it always pleases God to seek his mercy, blessings, and help, rather than to despair, be noncommittal, or even apathetic about our condition in life. Maybe one of the worst sins that Christians or even non-Christians make is the sin of omission. You don´t do the things that you could have done, mostly due to apathy. It is a hateful thing not to care or be frozen in time to find all your actions inconsequential or useless.
Stepping out with abandon, sometimes is better than to simply do nothing, seeking to block out the moment in time, when you could have done something that mattered. Almost nothing gets accomplished without work. You might work at being more patient, more caring, and certainly more considerate. Just being able to judge between good and bad, with a discerning heart, is sometimes more than enough, even though that also takes work to understand the most difficult things.
Solomon was communicating with God in a dream and simply asked Him for a good heart to be able to understand and make good decisions between the good and the bad. God answered Solomon and said that because he did not ask for long life, riches for himself, nor the life of his enemies, but sought to have an understanding heart and make good judgments, that God would give him wisdom and understanding, along with both riches and honor also. God also said that if Solomon would walk in His ways and keep the commandments that He would lengthen his days.
So, it takes work to conform ourselves to good study, to know the Bible, to control our sinfulness, and also to be able to understand difficult situations and find out how other people conducted their lives in the Holy Bible. Those scenarios are the lessons that God has handed down to us, in order for us to study and know the right ways of behavior and to make good judgments. Nothing gets done without putting forth effort and also to trust that God with always be with us to guide and lead us through difficult times, by studying the lessons in the entire Bible and know the words of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

“Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?”

“And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.”
