There are many times in the Bible when evidence of the word 'visitation' is mentioned. It might mean that God comes to help different people and heal and comfort them, lifting them up to some higher place. It also could mean that God's visitation will be a form of punishment. The word is mentioned many times in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament. It always refers to an event of quite memorable and supernatural consequences for all involved, being either a very frightening event or one of exceeding happiness and joy.

Jesus came to visit the Disciples after his crucifixion, immediately standing in the midst of them, and they were very surprised and glad that he had defeated death on the cross. He said unto them 'Peace be unto you', breathed on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on [them], and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

“Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.”
What were the Disciples feeling at this time, when he breathed on them and they received the Holy Ghost? I would venture that they were immediately healed of any maladies that they might have had. Also, their thinking was now in line with the thinking of Jesus Christ. They had already left their sinful lives and were following Jesus throughout the countryside, hearing his teachings and listening to his words of spirit and life. Yet, this time it was different. They actually at once received the gift of the Holy Ghost and became filled with the presence of God. That is something completely phenomenal, and is almost like having no resistance to his words of wisdom within our own human mind, knowing and feeling his good will and love in all our undertakings. It would also mean that instantly all hidden secrets of our human heart are known to God. That could be fearful, unless beforehand we have become cleansed and broken, knowing that we are nothing in the presence of God, but wishing only to do his will and not our own. The Disciples of Christ showed not so much fear, as amazement and gladness. So, they were already prepared beforehand. There will be many who are not prepared during their time of visitation, because they have not repented of their sins and changed their hearts of stone into a heart of flesh and blood.
“And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:”
Everyone here on the Earth should be prepared for some kind of visitation by God at some time in their life. So that it would not be such a shock when it evidently could happen, there must be first repentance, a change of heart, and a coming to the realization that we are not living on this Earth, thinking only of ourselves. Salvation is not from men but of God. Maybe you have had your visitation already and completely ignored it, thinking that a small quiet voice in the back of your mind, telling you to change your life, was only some strange visualization of a better world that could never happen to a person who is not religious. Yet, Jesus Christ can come alive in your own life and cause a new beginning, a rebirth, and bring a new spirit. You should not ignore this realization of what an immense change can take place in only one individual. It could happen to only one person or to a multitude, all at the same moment in time.
“And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:”
Multitudes of people followed Jesus, and they gave up their sins willingly and were healed. He did not have to try and force them to quit sinning, because they quit their sins of their own free will, believed and were healed instantly. There is an instantaneous healing when a person decides to give up their sins. The heart is changed immediately, a new spirit is given, and a new life begins.
Jesus walked through the walls and doors that had been locked for fear of the Jews after his resurrection. He entered spiritually into the hearts and minds of his Disciples, and he can also do the same for anyone who accepts him as their Lord and Savior. His Holy Spirit will breathe new life into your soul, as you take his words into memory and keep them alive everyday. By following the teachings of Jesus Christ, it prevents your human downfall that is inevitable if you are thinking always only of yourself. God's straight and narrow pathway is much better than the wide easy one of sin and corruption.
Find a way to follow closely in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
