After you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, your condition on this sinful world immediately becomes critical. Yes, you are surrounded by demons and death, as they will always try to snare your foot and lead you back into sin. God will always be with you in the form of the Holy Spirit from that day onward. To put it in submarine terms, your ship has immediately been transported and descended into hull-crush depth, since the evil forces will always try to invade, penetrate your spiritual surrounding, and even crush the sanctified nature that God has imbued you with from power on high. Don´t let the wickedness of the world trick you into thinking that you are less than you are.
Enoch in the Old Testament walked with God. Yes, I´m talking about that noble Antediluvian Patriarch that so many have written about and proclaim as one of the most righteous people in the Old Testament. He did not have the precious gift that Jesus Christ has given to all his followers though. "It is the Spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing, the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life." Jesus has given us his spiritual nature in his words to be able to fight against all temptations. You walk with God every single day of your life, even though the Christian still has problems with temptations. If God were to totally abandon you and not walk with you, there would be an immediate cataclysmic event in your life: unavoidable fate would find you wherever you go, wickedness would dominate all your decisions, and of course the world would love everything you do, since the temptations of evil would be taken into your heart and soul. This won´t happen, because like a soul compass, the Spirit of God will always be with you, even in times that you may think you are alone and sorely tempted, even tormented by the destructive natures of sin. Jesus said for us to be of good cheer, that he has overcome the world. Without the Spirit of Christ´s love, we are nothing.
One of my favorite pictures is an engraving by Albrecht Durer, called "Knight, Death, and Devil". It depicts the Christian Knight, mounted on a noble steed, with the fire of life in his nostrils, his faithful dog at his side, and the courageous knight is surrounded by demonic forces of death and destruction. He hardly notices all the evil surrounding him, because his human spirit is filled with power from on high and they can do nothing of harm, since God is with him. All Christians walk with God and are baptized into the body of Jesus Christ.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
