So many people are enthralled with making a "Bucket List" of things they want to do before they die, or kick the bucket. I would advise you to do this early, before the topic of seeing and doing enters into your wishful thinking. There are so many things that are more important than visiting interesting places in the world. How are you going to cope when it comes time to enter that long narrow house, the box, and your real obligations have not actually been fulfilled? What are the things that should be done to look forward to the assurance of being in favor with God? Yes, I know the verse of scripture that deals with salvation: John 3:16.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/John-3-16/
I think there is so much more to be done than just relying on being saved. I was actually visualizing a great healing and advancement in being in His favor, getting to know God and arranging a meeting or visitation, or just reaping the benefits of a spiritual uplifting of your own soul. God will arrange the time and place that will notify you of your enrollment into his forces, a 'Come to Jesus' time that will extend your benefits and warranty of self satisfaction. There is truly no better guarantee than feeling the love of God from doing a job well done. I like the Bible verse from 2 Chronicles 7:14.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

I think there is no better place to start than praying for friends or relatives, for your own country, and yourself. Set aside a time of day for studying the Bible and actually memorizing some of your favorite scriptures. To become familiar with passages of the Bible is like being inside a favorable machine that transports the mind into a clean safe zone, free from the troubles of the surrounding world. It might even generate new ideas that help you deal with problems in your present situations and perplexities that are difficult to resolve.
What are your past sins? It won't hurt to pull them back up in your memory and reconcile to God, your rejection of those temptations that caused the sins in the first place. Yeah, we've all got lots of those and new ones that pop up all the time. After all, we're living in a physical world that thinks sin is a noble right, which is protected by the Constitution and has guaranteed equal rights. We Christians all know better and realize that sin is a rusty demoralizing rot that creates a barrier between the human soul and God. It keeps us from the rewards of a spiritual life of goodness and victory over evil. Study a little and prepare before the battle begins. There is always a fight between good and evil, but half the war is won before it even starts. Gear up your mind, your heart, and your soul to create a shield of spirituality, which wins each and every time that temptation knocks on your door.
It doesn't hurt to witness, or at least mention to someone else on occasion that God forgives sins. After all, he forgave all of yours. If Jesus Christ can heal and cleanse you with his own blood, he can also do the same to millions of others. You never know whose soul you might save with just a few words of guidance and wisdom. Giving a few minutes of your own precious time to save the soul of others, bringing them to God, is a rich reward in itself, more than just passing a few extra coins to some poor people you might find on the street.
Revelation 1:5 - 1:6
5 And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Charity covers a multitude of sins, but it is not a true healer of the inner soul. That only comes with the giving up of your sins willingly and following Christ. You can give to the poor, make charitable gifts that provide medical benefits to those less fortunate, help someone along the way to be more comfortable, or even uplift the destitute and poverty stricken out of their torment and depression. But, much more can be accomplished by simply giving up your own sins and turning to God. After that, even the gifts of charity are multiplied exponentially by God himself. You can't out-give God. He will magnify a very small and simple gift and make it more than it really started out to be by a million times.
Lets go back over the special "Bucket List" again. Pray, study the Bible, memorize scripture, witness, give of your own heart, your hand, your abundance, and give up your own sins willingly. Those simple things will arrange a meeting with God on His terms and get that gold star that all of us want before our predetermined time to enter into that long narrow box.
