The fact that most Christians don't realize the power of Christ within them is nothing new in this modern day world. That doesn't negate the reality of the exact nature of the Holy Ghost within all Christians. From the day you were saved and accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior, many supernatural things began to happen, not that you were aware of their evidence, but the nature of the spirit is sometimes very small and quiet. You may never hear the voice of God coming from the burning bush like Moses did, or even a gentle spirit telling you how to go about your daily business. Yet, by studying the word of God, or having a regular prayer life, and meditating upon the New Testament passages of the teachings of Jesus Christ you will undeniably have things that change in your own life. Your personal life can't be normally sinful if you have a different Spirit within you.
In the Book of John Chapter 1:51, Jesus told Nathaniel that he would see the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.
“And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.”

Supernatural events are nothing new to the Christian life and even a new Christian is no exception. In fact, there is extreme activity going on in your life and the people around you. I've gotten comfortable in my less sinful life and sometimes don't remember what great turmoil it used to be. I say 'less' sinful, because all of us are not perfect and at times revert to the old ways, and then we are suddenly jerked back to the present and decide to change a very wrong course of action we had been thinking of taking. That's a miracle in itself, to be able to correct and change course in midstream, knowing that the results would have been probably disastrous. Just the knowledge itself is God talking to us and preventing our straying away from the straight gate and the narrow path. Is your mind working and processing all the possible results of poor planning and faulty actions?
Christ always has that perfect and good will for our edification and well being. We just have to use the tools he gives us in his lessons and guidance in the Bible. The books of the Bible are mostly given in stories about mistakes that God's people made and suffered as a result of their wrong directions in life they took or the really bad choices they made in disobeying God. They even knew all along that their mistakes were very grave, yet through their stubbornness and bad planning, that they were doomed to certain amounts of failure or direct demise.
For instance, I can't even imagine a man of God intentionally putting the husband of another man's wife into the heat of battle on the front lines of a war, so that the man would be killed. Yet, there it is in the genealogy of Jesus Christ as recorded in Matthew 1:6.
“And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;”

King David committed a very grave sin in having Uriah killed in battle because he wanted Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah. He wrote a letter to the commander, Joab, to put Uriah in the front of the battle to be killed.
“And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.”

Yet, King David knew that what he did was wrong, extremely hateful and sinful, but he did it anyway. God forgave him but his life was never the same, and the people knew that he had rebelled against God, as did all his enemies who grew stronger as a result of his sin.
The angels of God are there upon us, ascending and descending upon the Son of man, Jesus Christ. He is within you and you are within him, and as a result, there is a spiritual connection between all Christians and an open heaven. You have only to listen and obey the words of God to be blessed and walk always with the Son of God, Jesus Christ. It is up to you to study, keep in your mind the written words of God, and to obey his commandments. The Bible is a book of mistakes that have been written about those who walked with God, or those who failed, and also about those who were lifted up by the healing blood and the love of Jesus Christ.
“At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,”

We must listen to God as best we can hear him, through the stories about those people who lived in Biblical times and who either sought out the knowledge of God and kept his commandments or failed miserably. It is up to each and every one of us as Christians to fervently seek to be approved of God and assuredly know that within each and every Christian the heaven is open and there are angels ascending and descending upon he who is within us. It is through Jesus Christ that all things are possible.
