“And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;”

There is no need for any intercessory between God and Christians, except for Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, we now go directly to God with our prayers, all our problems, and for the forgiveness of our sins. In the Old Testament, under the Laws of Moses, the people had a priest, an intermediary between God and them. The people could not go near the Ark of the Covenant that contained the Ten Commandments, given by God to Moses. The Ark was kept inside the inner room of the temple in the Holy of Holies, and only the High Priest could enter therein once a year to make an atonement for the sins of the people. There were certain conditions that the priest had to make also, in the form of sacrifice and the way he did it. Having already made atonement for his own sins, he had to be completely bathed and dressed just a certain way, with clean garments, or else he would die in the presence of the Spirit of God. So, it was deadly to approach near to God, for the regular people, and even for the priest at times, unless he did it in a certain specified way.
There is no longer an intercessor necessary to approach to the presence of God, except through the sinless eternal High Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He made that sacrifice for us once, and he no longer has to make that ever again. No one priest, preacher, or any person teaching, interpreting the scriptures, or performing rituals and sacrifices need to intercede for a human being ever again to be able to come directly to God, except through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the door to enter into the presence of God.
“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

The Holy of Holies
the Veil and You

When Jesus yielded up the Ghost at the crucifixion and died, the veil in the Jewish Temple was torn from top to bottom at a height of about 60 ft., a very thick veil, woven of fine twined linen. So, a person standing on the ground could not have torn the veil, since it was torn from top to bottom. This veil was what separated the people from the Holy of Holies and the Ark of the Covenant, although there is no mention of the Ark of the Covenant in the Temple of Herod. The veil was now done away with nevertheless, Christ being the eternal priest, the presence of God, with no more sacrifices or atonement to make, other than this one sacrifice for the sin of the world.
“And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the LORD.”

“And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.”

13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 [Whereof] the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Jesus is that Ark of the Covenant, now and forever a Priest of the Order of Melchizedek. He is our eternal Priest and there is no need for another, who is called of God his Son and made High Priest forever.
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Jesus Christ, our High Priest forever, is also the Passover Lamb, the lamb whose blood was smeared over the lintels of the door post, that allowed the Holy Ghost to pass over the houses where it was seen. It is the same Holy Ghost that was given to the Apostles in the Second Chapter of Acts. Jesus loved us and has shed his innocent blood, so that God may have Communion with us.
What is the Passover Lamb? How is Jesus our Passover Lamb?

“Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.”

“Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:”

Jesus Christ is the same now and forever and has blessed us with his Holy Spirit, that same Holy Ghost that fell on the Apostles on the Day of Pentecost, the same Holy Spirit that came at Passover, and the same Holy Ghost that is our intercessor inside the Holy of Holies with God. He hears our prayers, communicates to God what we are unable to, bears our iniquities, and forgives us of our sins.
