Go and Seek Him Out

Go and seek Him out before the dew is on the grass in the morning or before the evening twilight makes shadows look like darkness is very near and approaching. Every one of us can find him, because he is always near. There is not a single human on the Earth that calamity has not touched or will eventually arrive near us at some later date. I have actually worked with people that great evil has touched and taken their lives, and I have been so close to evil that it might have touched me at any time.

An elderly lady I used to work with, a great Christian and a very pleasant person to be around, was cut into pieces by her own son, who burned her body in their backyard. I often visited a convenience store and bought items from another lady, who was forced into the back of the store and killed by a robber. Great evil walks around us every day and not one person knows the day or the hour when our own calamity might be approaching. I have been personally robbed at gunpoint three different times. Believe me, looking at the wrong end of a .45 auto, a .357 magnum, or a sawed-off shotgun is not a very pleasant thing and will never be forgotten. We need to do more than just read our Bibles every day and pray for the lost souls, ourselves, and our loved ones. We should always support our local law enforcement and their attempts to catch violent criminals in every way possible. For example, the NYPD often posts pictures of criminals caught by video cameras on their individual precinct Twitter accounts. Many are never re-tweeted or re-posted by the public. Try to get involved and help out your local Police. They are some of the bravest people I have ever known, constantly risking their own lives daily to catch the criminals who threaten all of our lives.

1* There is a tragic historical criminal record of one serial killer taking the lives of several young students and a young police officer at the University of Florida at Gainesville. One was an Architectural student and participated in a church youth group. Another was studying to be an Engineer. The serial killer was Danny Rolling, an extremely problematic man, who had a traumatic childhood. He was a baptized Pentecostal and at one time had even been active in his church.

2* All throughout the US there are possibly operating 25-50 serial killers at any one time, according to FBI statistics. Psychologists say that it is almost impossible to profile and determine who would be a prototype and prevalent for that kind of evil disposition. The numbers are just too great, and the odds would be incredible for determining predisposition without concrete facts, unless there is sufficient evidence and forensic data secured with DNA. Without public support, it's almost impossible to get enough data. Having worked in the public for more than twenty years and having been robbed three times, I can say without a doubt that you don't know by people's manners, preliminary perceived actions, or simply by their looks what they are capable of. Calamity, accidents, sickness, and evil intentions can find any person at any time. The rain falls on the just and the unjust alike, but seek diligently God in all his wisdom and pray to be delivered from evil. Don't wait for an accident to happen, or sickness to find you or a loved one, or evil to blatantly break down your door, burglarize your house, or take your life before you pray. Go and seek God out, looking for him until you find him, because he is not far from any of us.
