The year of 2018 is almost at a close, and many of us are just now making New Year's resolutions to set new goals for the coming year of 2019 or even vows to be better persons. Look not to others, even Christian brothers and sisters, your friends, teachers, or ministers, or your own fathers and mothers, as good examples to follow. Find first what examples Jesus Christ set for us to follow and warnings to heed in the coming new year and for the rest of your life. Not one human being who ever walked the Earth was a perfect example to follow, except Jesus Christ. In mathematics the discipline of Calculus provides one form for getting closer and closer to zero or any number as a target. In many applications of mathematics, it is not possible to actually know the exact answer to an equation, but with Calculus it is possible to get closer and closer to the zero origin or answer. In many ways Christianity is like that in our daily lives, being sinners and sometimes falling into temptation, but knowing the best answer, the closest answer, and the only way of salvation is through Jesus Christ. You must not ever put your total trust in human beings or mortal man. Every single human being that has ever walked the Earth is in some way guilty and has had a sinful nature, and sometimes even falling into degradation, except Jesus Christ. He is the only sinless human being who ever took on the flesh of mankind. Among mortal men perfection has never yet been attained, except through the one immortal being, who is Jesus Christ. So, there is not one person you should ever try and emulate or look up to as being beyond sin, except Jesus Christ.
“All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.”

“But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.”

“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”

Jesus Christ is telling us to all watch and to always be ready, knowing the total extents of our sinful nature, lest we relax for one minute or one hour, and our sinfulness catch us unaware. Yes, every Christian commits sins every day, and we are under grace and are forgiven for the many sins we do commit. But if we love God, we as Christians will not do the things that he does not want us to do, will continue to remain steadfast and obedient, in prayer always calling upon God in our time of need or temptation, studying the scriptures and meditating on them, and certainly we will be approved in the last day, or the last minute, or the last second. Don't let God catch you in your own sinfulness or even sins of omission when you least expect it.
