“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

Christians often tend to rely on their own resourcefulness and knowledge, when faced with insurmountable opposition. The Lord God gives us great obstacles to overcome, lest we think to ourselves that our own hand has saved us. He will reduce our numbers and increase the odds against us, so that we will remain faithful and think not unto our own strength and understanding but unto Him. How often does it happen that we presume that we are strong enough to fight against all odds, when we are thinking that we are a mighty nation? Yet, we do not understand that the most important thing is to remain faithful and not give in to appease the sinful nature of man against God´s commandments. To allow sin to thrive and exist among us or even to rule over us in our government is directly against the commandments of God and will lead to the weakening of our overall forces. God will reshape our faith into what He truly wants us to be. If we are not faithful unto the end, all is lost, and the great nation that our forefathers built for all generations will turn into dust before our very eyes. Gideon was not saved alone by his own faith in God, but he moved others, even three hundred to work in unity against tens of thousands and to obey the laws of God. We also must all work together to convince others that their faith is important too and to keep up the good works in order to maintain what God has already given us as a nation.

The evil forces will fight against themselves and eventually destroy each other, if we remain faithful to God. It has happened over and over again and is recorded many times in the Bible that God allows his people to overcome great obstacles against tremendous exponential forces that are against them. It is not their strength alone that brings them victory but their faith in God. We are living in difficult times, where there are great evil forces in the world that are against us. They tend to make us look very weak, but God will never forsake us, if we remain faithful and follow his commandments. We are not to be idle, though. Let your light shine before men and work to help increase their faith together with yours.
