That time of the year is almost upon us again, when we celebrate the love of Jesus Christ at Easter, who gives us eternally love and peace. Many of us are burdened by guilt, an overbearing need for redemption, powerful emotional upheavals, or simply a crushing desire to be needed and wanted. Reaching out spiritually to the one being who can immediately lift you into that heavenly realm of assurance and consolation is what Jesus is there for. Maybe there is grief from something not yet attained, or the sadness of rejection from a loved one, or the loss of all that was once held dear and cherished. Possibly, you have viewed from afar and seen what a loving family looks like, and you may think that what someone else has is unattainable or lost through some cruel mistake or misdirection in your life. Those around you may even be very loving and care deeply for you and you for them, but there is an ache in your heart that no one human can touch. The Heavenly Father reaches down and touches our hearts and souls through his Son, Jesus Christ. He administers medicine that cannot be bought or purchased with worldly goods, or even human thoughts and actions.

Jesus Christ knows what is in the hearts of all people, and he sees the reasons for the actions we have and the emotions we feel for all our fellow humans. The up-welling of the emotion of joy or sadness is known to God and also the deepest reasons for the feelings we have. Sometimes the burden of emotion is so volatile and overwhelming that it seems impossible to contain or prevent its expression and the overflow of powerful forces that have taken control of us. That's why Jesus Christ gave us the Holy Spirit, to help us in tempering and managing our own emotions that sometimes seem to dominate our daily lives in ways that might not be productive or conducive to our own well being. The Holy Spirit communicates to God the things in prayer that we cannot even form into words. He hears our groaning and even our moan of what for better words is exasperation. Thoughts are immediately speeded up in our prayers by the Spirit, and our words begin to flow in not just sentences or paragraphs, but are lifted up into symbolic meaning that no human could possibly understand; only in the presence of God could it be communicated. The volatile emotions that once were about to burst out of our human hearts and bodies are now passed on into reverent spiritual communication and the resonance returned is now harmonic again and peace envelopes our human form. This would not have been possible without the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He has defeated death and hell, giving us his Comforting Spirit to ease our burdens and guide us into the light.
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
