Student support and welfare

Kate Davison and Beky Hasnip have overall responsibility for student support and wellbeing in the Department and, alongside Chris Mowat, are key contacts if you need to discuss support needs at any point during your studies.

You're welcome to come and talk to us about any issues you experience whether this is short-term illness / personal issues or more ongoing circumstances i.e. if you have a disability, another long-term health condition or experience significant personal circumstances.

Beky and Chris have a range of student hour slots each week and you are very welcome to book an appointment. You can also email our welfare specific address history.mawelfare@sheffield.ac.uk to ask questions or check availability at another time. Meetings can take place in person, phone or via Google Meets - whatever you prefer

Personal tutors

Your personal tutor is another key contact during your degree. They are available to discuss and support academic progression. They are also there to support you with any difficulties you may be experiencing and point in you in the right direction for specialist help or any additional skills development you may be interested in.

You can find who your individual personal tutor is in your MyRecord (via MUSE). All staff contact details
