Information about history option modules available to students studying non-history MA programmes in Arts and Humanities or Social Sciences.
Autumn deadline: 5pm Friday 11 October 2024 | Spring deadline: 5pm Friday 21 February 2025
Subject to availability, you can make changes to your modules in the first two weeks of each semester (the system is open for three weeks up to the deadline). Although for students on history programmes, we don't recommend changing 15 credit option modules running in weeks 1-5 after their first week.
You should contact the Postgraduate Student Experience Manager at history.maenquiries@sheffield.ac.uk to discuss your options and check availability. Your personal tutor and the Director of MA Programmes are also available to provide academic advice on your module choices.
Once you have had a change approved, you should complete an add drop request via MUSE> My Services> Module Add/drop.
Once the request has been formally approved through the Add/drop system, your University Record will be updated. Your timetable will usually update the next working day but may take an extra day or two if the module has multiple seminar groups.
Dropped modules should be removed from your Blackboard list within a couple of days but you can also hide a module by clicking on the menu dots at the right-hand side of the module container and selecting hide course. If you continue to receive any emails sent via Blackboard by the module tutor you can safely ignore them.
Student hours
The Postgraduate Student Experience Manager has bookable online appointments each week, or you can also email (history.maenquiries@sheffield.ac.uk) to check availability at another time.
