Summative essays and other standard assessed written work

All summative assessment is marked anonymously – you should not put your name anywhere on any of your assessed work.

Essays should include a cover sheet which has the following information:

  • your registration number (9 digit number beginning with your year of entry (i.e. 22) found on your UCard)

  • the module code

  • essay title

  • word count

Headers/footers

You should also include the following information in a header or footer:

  • your registration number

  • the module code

  • page numbers

Group work

You will submit one copy of your work as a group. As with all summative submissions, the work should be anonymous as far as possible so you should avoid including names in your work.

Dissertation

All summative assessment is marked anonymously – you should not put your name anywhere on any of your assessed work.

Your dissertation should include a title page which has the following information:

  • your registration number (9 digit number beginning with your year of entry (i.e. 22) found on your UCard)

  • the full title of your dissertation

  • your supervisor's name

  • word count

  • the following statement: 'A dissertation submitted in part-fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of MA in [your degree], University of Sheffield, September 2023.'
