In my interview with Ms. Mohamed, she said she's really proud of our volleyball team even though we lost a game. She told me about how tough everyone played and how we're getting ready for our next games in the district tournament, focusing on playing smart and keeping our heads in the game.
Jadiel: My first question is, do you think it was the players' fault that you lost the match?
Coach Mohamed: Absolutely not.
Jadiel: How did you feel after the loss?
Coach Mohamed: I felt proud of my team. They did very well, especially considering it was their first game in an unfamiliar gym. We're going to win some games and lose some games, but they did amazing.
Jadiel: Will anyone else join the team, or just those who weren't playing in that match?
Coach Mohamed: We have a lot of different strategies for team composition.
Jadiel: How could you or your team have done better, given you lost by just two points?
Coach Mohamed: My team is aware of the mistakes they made, and they were upset on the day of the game. I trust them and the process. As for strategies, I’m not going to reveal my secrets.
Jadiel: What school did you play against?
Coach Mohamed: We played against Shell Bank. And if you add up the points, we would have won if the game went to 75 points. They scored 58, and we scored 62.It's like the electoral college in a way.
Jadiel: Are you guys going into a tournament?
Coach Mohamed: We're already in one, and tomorrow's game is against Marine Park, a very competitive team. Hopefully, we'll perform well.
Jadiel: How do you know what teams you will play against?
Coach Mohamed: Ms. Natalie Wheeler, director of District 22 Sports, organized the tournament and provided us with the schedule. We play Marine Park tomorrow and Roy H. Mann on February 13th.
Jadiel: So, we've got our upcoming games planned out?
Coach Mohamed: Yes, that's correct
Jadiel: Thank you and good luck!
Coach Mohamed: Thank you!
