According to the news service, CNN, a SpaceX and NASA mission was called off at the very last minute before take off. The article for those interested in an in depth explanation is, “SpaceX, NASA astronaut launch to International Space Station called off at last minute.” The article highlights how NASA was supposed to have the seventh launch to space but it got canceled. According to NASA and CNN, they’re supposed to launch soon after the delay. The launch is tentatively scheduled for March 2nd.
This “call off” was because of a detection that could cause problems with the rocket. With 2 minutes on the clock left they needed to call it off and the news article mentions, “With about two minutes left on the countdown clock, the launch was called off because of a problem related to the TEA-TEB ignition fluid, which is used to ignite the SpaceX Falcon 9’s rocket engines at liftoff.” The astronauts that were in the rocket were named Stephen Bowen (USA), Warren Hoburg (USA), Sultan Alneyadl (UAE), and Andrey Fedyaev (Russia). These astronauts each have done this multiple times or maybe even their first time. For some, it was their first time, others second, etc. They were supposed to launch eventually despite the hold back. The article mentions that any launch is really risky but they will always endeavor for the sake of science.
