Signaling the arrival of the new librarian in MS890 Phoenix and this is a review on the changes.
M.S. 890 has hired a new librarian to take care of our lovely library- the new librarian is known as Ogla Nesi but also known as Ms.Nesi. Lately, there have been a few changes to the library such as the shelves being reorganized, the library having its own website and for it actually looking like a bookstore with Barnes & Nobles vibes. On February 28th we interviewed her and asked questions. We asked Ms. Nesi if she had moved and rearranged the furniture and she responded with “ Yes, yes I did it all by myself, everything here is all done by me.” and then shortly after that she gladly gave us a tour of the new library.
We also interviewed MS 890 students to gauge their reception of the now- functional library. Seventh grader Willa McKain was asked how she felt about the new librarian and the changes within the library? She responded, “ Right now, I don't know the librarian very much but it seems as though she’s putting attention into taking care of the library.”
We asked Gabriela from 703 how she felt about the new changes in the library; Gaby responded proudly by stating, “ I like it a lot compared to the old library, it is way better than before.”
We asked Ms. Nesi if she had moved and rearranged the furniture and she responded with “ Yes, yes I did it all by myself, everything here is all done by me.” and then shortly after that she gladly gave us a tour of the new library. One cool fact about our newest librarian is that this is not her first time being a librarian! No wonder she was such a natural at doing this! “I just came out of retirement to work here and I love it!”
Overall, the addition of a part-time librarian to the school staff is great as she will bring expertise in lto the library. We look forward to having her and the valuable resources and services she will provide.
890, let’s welcome our newest librarian… MS.NESI!!!
Did you know?
Having a librarian at a school is more than just having someone to check out books. They bring expertise in literacy and research, helping students navigate through lots of information available in today's digital age. The librarian's role is to teach students how to find, evaluate, and use information effectively and responsibly.
One of the primary benefits of having a librarian at the school is the access to resources. The school library will offer a wide selection of books and other reading materials for all interests. In addition, Ms. Nesi will share a wealth of online databases, including digital magazines, scholarly articles, and e-books. Students and teachers will be able to access these resources through a dedicated website that the librarian created. You can access it by finding a link on the school website or the link below!
