Artist Statement

For this project we went into the dark room which a handful of objects. I spread the objects out on a piece of a special type of paper after writing information on the back. I wrote my name, how long the light was on(10 seconds), and the setting (f8). There was a timer that controlled how long the light was on for. Then I followed the directions on the wall in the dark room starting with putting the paper into the developer. Then I moved it through the rest of the stations until it was ready to be dried. I ran out of time with the first one and left it in the water but with the second one I made it through all the stations. I didn't think a lot about what objects to use, I just used some random things from out of my backpack and around the art room. Once I had the objects, I spread them out on the paper in the way that I thought looked the best. I liked the pencil sharpener in the first photogram because you can see the pencil shavings in it.
