Is today Tuesday or Saturday?

For my second Covid -19 response I decided to base it off of how people keep forgetting what day it is because they don't have their normal routine and time seems to be passing in a weird way. I decided to show this by drawing a person who is living in multiple days and nights at once. I tried to show this with the lighting on her face and in the night and day sky background. I also added a warped looking clock to show that time seems to be passing in a strange way. There are also some calendar pages flying by in the background because of how many days have passed since quarantine started. The girl is wearing a ufo t-shirt which I based off of my own t-shirt that I have been wearing a lot recently.
I did this drawing digitally using procreate because when I tried to do it traditionally everything went very wrong and I had to try a different material. My first attempt was with gouache but it looked weird so I added details and shading with colored pencil and then pen but I still didn't like it. I wanted to experiment with using colors to show the different lighting and that was easier to do digitally. I'm still not super happy with how the lighting looks though so that's something I want to practice more.
I used different shades of all the colors in this drawing to show day vs night. I also used an interesting shape for the clock to represent how time does not feel normal right now. This drawing is pretty balanced and symmetrical. The clouds and the stars in the background create a pattern. The values of blue in the ufo on the shirt add some unity between the girl and the sky. My project evolved as I tried to figure out what material to use and when I added more details to make the message clearer. My next step could be to practice using colors to show different types of lighting. I would also like to use paint instead of digital art for my next piece.
