Video and Still Photography

Introduction

Salon hive acknowledges that using Video and still Photography requires safe, respectful and responsible use. This Policy provides information on the expectation and responsibility of users and the procedures that need to be followed to ensure safe, effective and secure use of video and still photography within, and external to, the salon setting. The video and still photography goal of Salon Hive is to create and maintain a safe online culture which is in keeping with the values of the salon, and legislative and professional obligations.

USE OF STILL IMAGES AND ONLINE VIDEO:

All staff at Salon Hive have a legal and ethical responsibility to provide a safe working environment. Therefore, no images of staff or clients are to be published without the consent of the person.

Staff must work within the following requirements when publishing or viewing online still images or video:

● When images or video of staff or clients are published online, images may contain one or more people. Names will not be attached to images or video of one person, and only first names in random order will be attached to images or video with two or more people, without written or verbal consent.

● Only use appropriate images of clients or employees work. An ‘appropriate’ image is an image where clients have finished their service with their hair styled.

APPROPRIATE PHOTOS: ​

• We only share photos of ourselves and our work if we have staff and client consent.

• All photos must be related to salon based activities.

• Photos taken off the premises at events or functions still require the consent of the person in the image

SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media is any form of online or web-based publication, forum or presence that allows interactive communication, including, but not limited to, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, blogs, forums, discussion boards, chat rooms, Wikis, Twitter and YouTube.

All Salon Hive staff need to behave in an ethical manner when using social media and all online behaviour should at all times demonstrate respect for the dignity of each person and be consistent with the Salon Hive values.

PHOTO RELEASE FORM

• I give permission for images of work samples to be used online for salon related purposes, in newsletters and appropriate platforms Y/N

• I give permission for my image and video to be used online for salon related purposes, online learning tasks using newsletters and appropriate platforms Y/N

• I give permission for my image to be used on social media and marketing materials for marketing and advertising purposes Y/N
