ASSESSMENT PLANNING

Find out which student you will be assessing and what you will be assessing them for. 

You may be assessing a new apprentice, a new senior or re-assessing an existing employee. Different people are up to different stages in their employment, so planning may vary accordingly

Access the materials needed from Salon Hive. 

Each Assessment Folder has its own assessment sheets that need to be printed off and used for each assessment.

Read the instructions.

The assessment sheets will give the student an overview of what is required to complete each job. Each part of every job has training videos and each student has access to these videos.

Please read the guidelines and standards for the assessment process.

Allocate enough time

Session times will vary on the job being assessed. Check the standards for each individual job being assessed.

Prepare the materials

Assessment sheets, pens, instructions and standards are to be available to the student and assessor before the assessment. Students are to provide their own hair models for the assessment.

Go through the assessment

The assessment should be discussed with students to make sure that they understand what is expected of them prior to the assessment. Briefly, go through each step and the standards involved to complete the job.

Conduct the assessment

The next step is to conduct the assessment with your students.
