SYSTEM OBJECTIVE: Removal of Demi, Semi and Permanent hair colour from hair and scalp.

INFORMATION: Colour or Dye's comes in various strengths. Demi, Semi, or Permanent Colour. The same basic principles apply when removing these colours. Just be aware that some Permanent Colour brands may require two shampoos, and the Semi colours might only need one shampoo and conditioner. Always check with the manufacturer's instructions or a supervisor.
Step 1. Follow all health, safety and salon procedures prior to colour removal.
Step 2. Follow manufacturer's instructions.
Step 3. Check with the supervising hairdresser that the colour is ready to be removed, what products need to used, and if a toner or another service will be applied after rinsing.
Step 4. Seat the client at the basin ensuring the client’s neck and head are in the correct position for comfort and you have access to all the hair, scalp, forehead and nape of the hairline.
Step 5. Ensure client clothing is covered with capes, gowns and towels.
Step 6. Ask the client to close their eyes while rinsing the colour.
Step 7: Apply tepid water and very gently emulsify the colour
Step 8. Go over the entire hair, scalp, forehead hairline and nape hairline applying massage techniques as directed by supervising hairdresser and product instructions.
Step 9.Rinse the excess product thoroughly from the hair and scalp.
Step 10. Either apply another service to the hair, or, shampoo and condition the hair.
Step 11. Gently absorb excess water using a towel and apply salon products and procedures to remove forehead, nape or hairline colour stains when required.
Step 12. Gently detangle hair from underneath and from ends to root using a large wide-tooth comb.
Step 13. Seat client in styling chair following the seating procedures.
