INFORMATION: Benches, cutting stations, or work benches are going to vary from salon to salon, but the standard in which they are kept should be the same. It’s so important for a bench to be checked and kept clean all day. This might be the first place a client sits at during their visit to the salon, so not only is it respectful to the client to sit somewhere clean and tidy, but it’s also the first impression a client may have of the salon. It has to be perfect.
You may need to clean the benches/stations every half hour. It will depend on how busy you are. It’s important they are cleaned after every client visit at that position.
Exercise caution when lifting heavy things or using cleaning materials. Always follow manufacturer instructions, look at material safety data sheets, follow instructions from a supervisor and ask for help if at any point you are unsure about any part of this procedure.
STEP 1: Turn the power points off
STEP 2: After every client, wipe over the bench with a towel
STEP 3: End of the day, wipe over the bench using a cleaning spray and towel
STEP 4: Place chairs evenly along benches
