Any new employee will be on a probationary period of up to six months.
In this period, the new employee will meet with the manager on a weekly basis to discuss the probation expectations. Direct feedback will be given about the new employees performance, and, if they are meeting the expectation standards.
Even though a probation period is for a set length of time, new employees should be aware of industry and federal laws.
Hairdressing industry law can be found here: Hairdressing Award
Federal Employment laws can be found here: Federal Employment Law
In the attachments below you will find a copy of the Probation Expectations.
Go through it and please ask about anything you are unsure of. These are the things we will be looking at while a new employee is on probation, hence it's important to understand each of the expectations.
