Handling:

Scissors are very delicate and sometimes expensive. For a hairdresser specialising in cutting, this is the most important tool and need to be handled carefully. 

Adjusting:

All scissors need to be adjusted regularly. Photo one shows the scissors held in the "nine o'clock" position, now if the horizontal handle is released, the scissors shouldn't close, but stop somewhere between "ten o'clock" and "eleven o'clock", as shown in photo two. You can adjust your scissors by turning the screw or knob clockwise a little at a time and re-checking.

Cleaning:

• Watch the instructional video

• Ask for help if you are unsure with what to do

• Rinse the scissors in warm water

• Carefully wipe them dry

• Oil the area between the blades, and work the scissor

• Carefully spread the oil on the inside of the scissor blades with your finger.
