Head Massage

• Every client having a shampoo and condition to receive a head massage, unless instructed not to.

• Consult with the client about any pre-existing conditions or injuries.

• Seek advice from a supervisor before proceeding where the client indicates pre-existing conditions or injuries.

• Monitor client response throughout the service and adapt massage routine as required

• INFORMATION: One of the most relaxing services a client will experience in a salon is a head massage. Head massages are usually performed when a treatment or conditioner is on the hair.

STEPS

STEP 1: Follow the system for Shampooing

STEP 2: Apply the appropriate conditioner to the hair and comb through

STEP 3: Apply massage techniques to the head, scalp and neck.

STEP 4: Check the pressure of the massage with the client

STEP 5: Vary the length of the massage routine to suit client requirements and salon designated time lines.

STEP 6: Rinse the conditioner/treatment out

STEP 7: Towel dry the hair

STEP 8: Seat the client and inform the senior
