      • For students to be encouraged in their education they need to know their goal. Using previous student success stories can trigger an emotional connection for students that can engage them to develop a success plan.


Reflection

      • Reflection as “Action now” and “Possible future/values oriented” are key to students perseverance throughout their education. The constant process of reflection can keep students focused on their goals and on the right path to achieving them.


RElation to education:


      • Middle school teachers can guide students to developing a goal of interest that targets an emotion to motivate them towards a “possible future”.


      • Whereas high school teachers can solidify students’ thinking about a plan in action to be successful in their future whether it’s college or opening a business.


Setting Goals For Success Through Persistance

  • Getting students to set a long term goal can put their futures into perspective and help them define the steps they need to take to stay on track with their goals.


  • Use other people's success stories to encourage and inspire them.
