Overview:

This chapter explains the various ways of learning and understanding knowledge. It is broken down into two parts. The first section describes how knowledge is retained at different developmental stages and experiences in someone’s life. The second section describes the skill set of gathering knowledge and learning. This study focuses on how students learn new information and acquire knowledge through their past experiences and knowledge.


Relevance to Secondary Schools:

Teachers will be able to understand the details and levels of learning. A student's prior knowledge plays a significant role in their ability to learn and acquire new knowledge. For any subject taught, it is important to know what knowledge students have prior to the new lesson.
