The following guidance clarifies the usage of Tables QR codes:
1. Assign the order to the related table.
2. Create an Order. and send the order to the kitchen.
3. When the customer finishes, can scan the QR code using a mobile device to pay for the order.
4.The customer will have two options: view the menu or view the bill. Click view Bill.
5. When the customer presses the view bill button, the order details will be displayed.
6. The customer must select No Split or Split Equally to proceed with the payment.
Note: If the cashier app is not running, the customer will receive an error message after pressing the proceed to pay button.
If the customer chooses to split the payment. Then, each customer on the table should read the QR code and choose split equally and write his/her name.
7. When the customer click proceed to pay, A notification will be sent to the cashier that the order is locked, so the cashier cannot make any changes to the order.Â
8. Customers will be able to pay with Apple Pay or by filling out their credit card information.Â
Note: During the payment process, a timeout will be started for 2 minutes. After this timeout, the payment will fail, and the order will be unlocked at the cashier. Then, click pay to verify the payment method.Â
9. Customers can select a tip from pre-defined amounts or enter a custom amount.Â
10. The page will show that the order was paid successfully and will show the order number.
11. As soon as the order has been paid, a table payment method will be added to the order, and the order will be fully paid without closing.
12. In the table layout, a $ sign will be displayed for the paid table (As an indicator for the cashier/waiter), so the waiter can close the order and print the receipt.
Using QR code Issues & Solutions:
Cashier is not getting notified of payment, the customer claims to have to pay but not showing up on the cashier?
* Check the cashier internet status. Anyone using pay at table MUST have a stable internet connection. Check if the cashier is able to open youtube or visit a page, then attempt to Sync Orders/Data to see if the cashier updates.
If it is still not updated or showing up, we can check the transactions on Pay 2 portal, if it is not visible within 3 days, than raise a complaint for Pay L2
Multiple Customers tried to pay at the same time.
The system back end will only accept 1 payment at a time.
Example: the bill is for 30 SAR between 3 ppl, all 3 try to pay at the same time.
The back end will receive Payment 1, 2, 3. It will process 1, but then check if the bill has been fully paid. If payment received = bill remaining and the final pending amount is 0 SAR, then it will automatically reject payment 2 and 3.
If the scenario above somehow fails then, this has to be solved between Pay Product and Pay at table to solve this bug (2 complaints at the same time - one for Product team and one for Pay team)
Split bill leading to overpay:
The system back end will only accept 1 payment at a time.
Example: the bill is for 30 SAR between 2 ppl
Person 1 tried first to pay 25 SAR
Person 2 tried second to pay 15 SAR
Total 45
Person 1 transaction will process with no issue
Person 2 Transaction will calculate the remaining balance first. 30-25 = 5. Since the payment is 15 which is greater than 5, it will reject the payment.
If the scenario above somehow fails then, this has to be solved between Pay Product and Pay at table to solve this bug (2 complaints at the same time - one for Product team and one for Pay team)
