Cooler days are here! 🍂 Please remind your child(ren) to bring a cozy coat or wear pants to school. We’ll be heading outside for brain breaks, recess, and fresh air unless it’s raining or freezing. Let’s keep everyone warm and ready for outdoor fun! ❄️🧥
Important Reminder:
We will send home graded/completed work on Wednesdays. There will be a sheet for you to sign weekly showing that you have seen (and removed) all of their work. Forms from the office will also be included. Students have labeled the front pocket in their binder "Take Home".
*NTI slides are below (also posted on Google Classroom)
*The book club will meet on Friday, on Google Meet, if we are still on NTI.
Math: Mrs. Bennett
This week in math class we are focusing on the Math MAP test! We will test a bit each day and then brain breaks to relieve any stress and move our bodies after focusing for longer period of times! I am eager to see your child's growth and progress so far this year!
Homework: 1/26 - 1/30
-No Math Simple Solutions- NTI (See Google Classroom for NTI work)
I always encourage students to continue to work on Reflex if they are not to full mastery yet!
Social Studies: Mrs. Crush
Students are continuing their lessons Ancient India, focusing on the Indus Valley Civilization, which developed around 2500 BCE along the Indus River in present-day Pakistan. Students learned that much of what we know about this civilization comes from archaeology, since its written language has not yet been translated.
Students will also explore how the Indus Valley people met their needs through farming, raising animals, and using river resources. A major learning goal was understanding why the Indus Valley is known for its advanced city planning, including grid-like streets, strong flood protection, uniform bricks, running water, and some of the world’s earliest flush toilets.
NTI: Last Friday, the students were given Map Directions, labels, and a map of Ancient India. Students will follow the NTI schedule and label their map of Ancient India and answer the questions. Please refrain from working ahead as we will pick up from where we left off when we return to school.

Religion: Mrs. Crush
For Religion, we will be focusing on our saint of the month, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton! It's very special that we learn about her with it also being Catholic Schools Week. She is the first American born saint and also started the first Catholic school. Each student was given a packet with activities to learn more about her. See the NTI 5th Grade Google Slide for the activities to be completed each day. Please refrain from working ahead as we will pick up where we stopped when we return to school.
