What we are Learning This Week
Math: Mrs. Bennett
We’re kicking off our next math unit on factors and multiples! This unit builds on what we just learned about area—students will now use arrays to represent numbers and explore all the different ways they can be formed, helping them discover each number’s factors. They’ll also learn how to find common factors and multiples, and understand the difference between prime and composite numbers. These skills create a strong foundation for future topics like fractions and divisibility rules. Students will use hands-on activities and number games to explore patterns in multiplication and division, helping them see the connections between numbers in a fun and meaningful way. Encourage your child to practice skip-counting and multiplication facts at home—it’s a great way to strengthen their understanding of factors and multiples!
Homework: 10/6 - 10/9
I am making some changes to our homework routine this month! I want to incorporate homework that corresponds with what is currently being taught in class, along with our Simple Solutions spiral review. Students will have all week to complete the following assignments. It breaks down to one worksheet a day. Reflex will not be a required assignment this week, so students can adjust to this change in routine, but will be given time during class to complete Reflex sessions.
*All due Thursday 10/9 due to a short week*
