This week in Math class we will finish up our chapter on classifying triangles and quadrilaterals! Students will continue to practice all the different ways to name a shape based on their attributes. For example, a square also falls under the category of rectangle, rhombus, parallelogram, quadrilateral, and regular polygon! Students who need additional challenge, will begin to work on calculating the area of differnt polygons such as triangles and some parallelograms!
Students will take a test on Classifying 2D Figures (Quadrilaterals & Triangles) Friday 2/7. Students have access to a study guide. They will have some class time to work on it, but it is students responsibility to complete it on their own time to assure they are prepared for the test! The area of different polygons will not be on the test, but may be a bonus.

Students will use the Planet Money video series "We Made a T-Shirt" to track the complete production of making a graphic t-shirt from growing the cotton to shipping to a store near you. Students will then choose a product of their own to track and understand how it is created and possibly shipped to their homes.
