Date: Wednesday, April 30
We will joyfully welcome the month of May as we honor our Blessed Mother through the beautiful tradition of May Crowning. We kindly ask that you send your child with a flower or a small bouquet to help adorn the statue of Mary.
Weather permitting, we will begin outside by placing flowers around the statue of Mary and praying the rosary together. Following this, we will process inside for Mass to continue our celebration. Thank you for helping us celebrate this special devotion to Our Lady!
Big Bone Lick State Park Field Trip
Due to the Monday field trip and Spring Program practice times this week, we will likely only have Language Arts class once (possibly twice) this week.
Reading:
describe the relationship between the cultural norms set for women in the Renaissance and the ways women challenged those norms.
Morphology:
use the root serv, meaning "to save, protect, or serve," as a clue to determine the meaning of words.
Writing:
We are finishing informational TIME magazine covers on our chosen Renaissance artists
Homework: No homework
Math: Mrs. Bennett
This week we are wrapping up our unit on dividing decimals. Students are expected to be able to divide a whole by a decimal, a decimal by a whole number, and two decimal amounts. This week our attention will be on how to divide two decimal amounts. Students will learn to remove the decimal from the divisor, so we are dividing by a whole number rather than a decimal amount. We will also work on estimating our quotient prior to solving to help us assess our work at the end. We will take quiz on this skill on Monday 5/5. The quiz will be a condensed version of our typical tests, so I can get a quick check of where we are at with this content before moving on to the next unit. I recommend using 5th Grade IXL FF.5, FF.8, and FF.9 to help study!
Homework:
4/28 - SS #97
4/29- SS #98
