LA - MRS SCHMITT
This week students will finalize their focus on the essential question: "How can I design a unique and interesting balloon for our classroom’s Thanksgiving Day Parade?" Students are participating in a Balloons Over Broadway Project Based Learning Task in which they research the Thanksgiving Day Parade through reading different types of texts, create their own plan for a balloon and parade route, collaborate with others by giving and receiving feedback, and write an explanatory piece about their design plan.
Students will be identifying and using the correct order of adjectives. Students are analyzing roots and affixes, understanding their meaning and purpose. Students are practicing these skills on IXL, Khan Academy, and Freckle Apps.
Homework:
Weekly Reading Log for week of 11/28-12/2. Due by Friday 12/2. The form is posted on their Language Arts Google Classroom.
Unit 6 Vocabulary Words have been reviewed in class and posted on Google Classroom.
Students will be tested on Thursday, December 8.
MATH: MRS. BENNETT
This week in Math class we are starting to work on our next Module- Use Fractions to Understand Angles. Students will practice identifying, drawing, and naming angles. We will learn that angles are related to rotation and explore using unit angles to find how many of that unit angle completes a circle. Students will think about how angles and rotation are found in art and nature. We will analyze snowflakes and also constellations as examples of lines and angles in the real world.

SOCIAL STUDIES: MRS. CRUSH
We will continue our unit of Geography of the United States. Students will understand that the United States has a diverse geography and various maps can be used to represent and examine the geography. They will identify and map major physical features, including mountains, rivers, lakes, and large bodies of water. They will also examine climate and vegetation maps to explore the relationship between physical features and vegetation/climate. We will continue our studies about the Northeast Region. Students will be assessed on the state capitals + states and they will also be researching and presenting a landmark on the Northeast Region. They will be completing their Northeast Region Projects and will be presenting this week.
RELIGION: MRS CRUSH
We will continue Ch. 3, "The Ten Commandments, " in our Blest Are We workbooks. We will discuss the importance of keeping promises, learn the Ten Commandments, recognize that our relationship with God is based on the first three Commandments, learn the life of Saint Teresa of Jesus (Teresa of Avila), and pray a prayer of petition.
Ch. 3 Test: Tuesday, December 6 (Study "We Believe" states, Faith Words, underlined/highlighted words, "Ten Commandment Notes" on Google Classroom, and the Ch. 3 Review*). *We will complete the Ch. 3 Review in class on Friday, December 2.*
