LA: MRS SCHMITT
With Mr Britton transitioning into the LA position, this section of the newsletter will be updated at his earliest convenience. Students should continue to read nightly and utilize their IXL Skill plan to review reading and writing skills.
MATH: MRS. BENNETT
This week in Math class, we are starting to work on our next module- Understand Division with 1-Digit Numbers. Students will use place value and visual models to represent division by 1-digit numbers. We will also use money to model splitting an amount evenly. Students will realize that some bills have to be exchanged in order to share the amount evenly. For example, a $100 bill can't be split into 4 groups, until it is exchanged for 10 $10 bills. This will help students connect the process of long division.

SOCIAL STUDIES: MRS. CRUSH
In Math Workshop, we are continuing our project, "Using a Scale to Create a Map," focusing on the West and Southwest Regions. There are a few students who have states from the Midwest Region. Each student was assigned a different states and they will be creating a map with a title, cities, geographical features, compass rose, scale, and bodies of water. Using their scale, they will create multiple step math problems. In Social Studies, we will focus on the Southwest Region and students will be doing a mini Landmark Project.
We will continue our Research Project on Kentucky Counties. Each student will be assigned a cluster of counties. They will focus on places, government, people, and events in their cluster. Students will be working on this research project in both Social Studies and Technology for the next several weekends. Mrs. Crush has divided the students into small groups to do check-ins and answer any questions. She will see 1-3 groups each class period.
RELIGION: MRS CRUSH
We will continue our lesson on Lent and get started on Saints March Madness! Each student or pair will choose a saint. They will be researching about their saint and creating a nonprofit in honor of their saint. The students will also be creating questions for their saint and answer them if they were the saint. Exciting times!
