Students need to write a new poem.

  • The poem must be 14 lines
  • Each line must have exactly 10 syllables
  • Alliteration must be used in three different places; alliteration is the repetition of a sound

Repetition of SH sound: shovel, should, fish, shrimp, wish

Repetition of P sound: Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

An easy way to create alliteration is to write three or four words that all start with the same letter and put these words beside each other. Example: We went walking on Wednesday.
