Write three haikus, write one pantoum.

Haiku: This poem has three lines. Line one has five syllables, line two has seven syllables, line three has five syllables. Nothing rhymes. No meter is used. Evoke an image or thought of nature. Evoke a different perspective on a topic or issue mentioned in the poem; example, house burned down = bad. No! Instead: My view of the rising moon is excellent now that my house has burned down.

Pantoum: This poem has 16 lines. Rather this poem has 8 lines and each of these is repeated (word for word) someplace else in the poem. Repeat line 1 on line 14. Repeat line 2 on line 5. Repeat 3 on 16. 4 & 7; 6 & 9 are identical; 8 & 11 are the same; 10 & 13 are copies of each other; 12 & 15 are the same.

Note, three of the lines you write for the pantoum must use alliteration (the repetition of a vowel or consonant sound).
