Students need to list five describes for four characters; pick four characters from the story Great Expectations, list five about each character.

Choose four of these characters: Miss Havisham, Estella, Joe, Biddy, Mr. Jaggers, Mr. Wemmick, Orlick, Pip's sister. You many NOT choose Pip. Then list five things about each character, example:

Pip

• He is the hero of the story
• He is to inherit a lot of money but does not know who is giving him this money though he suspects it is Miss Havisham
• He, as a little boy, met an escaped convict who nearly killed Pip but Pip helped the criminal
• He loves Estella, in spite of how cruel and uncaring Estella is to Pip
• He was raised by his abusive sister, who is 20 years older than him, and her husband, Joe the blacksmith, who is a really (really) nice guy
