Weekly Theme - This week we will be taking a closer look at world during era of exploration. Specifically - we will be examining the characteristics, roles and impacts of world explorers and contacts of indigenous peoples/tribes and early explorers. We will be completing more assignments , exercises and activities within the notebook packet for Chapter 1 and 2 - World Before 1492 / First Encounters, First Conquests.
HOMEWORK: WARM-UP PACKET AND CURRENT EVENT DUE; TUESDAY / APUSH WRITING NOTEBOOK DUE: TUESDAY!

SWBAT identify, describe, explain key characterisitcs, events, impacts of age of Exploration
SWBAT chart world exploration by completing a map assignment.
METHOD:
Warm-Up/Question of the Day!
Kahoot! - Review Game - Chapter 2 - First Encounters, First Conquests - Students partake in review game to test their knowledge on content learned in unit.
Video/Questions - 15th Century Mariners: Crash Course World History - Students view video and answer questions.
Chapter 2 Key Concept Questions - Students will answer higher-order thinking questions related to content taught in chapter reading.
Map Assignment - Students will map key explorations of world explorers using resource.
HOMEWORK: FINISH MAP ASSIGNMENTS IN NOTEBOOK - EARLY WORLD, NORTH AMERICA GEOGRAPHY, WORLD EXPLORATIONS DUE: THURSDAY!

Debate Forum - Source Reading - Was Christopher Columbus (and other explorers) Imperialist? - Students will read secondary source and complete analysis chart on the reading. Students will then prep. for debate forum.
