Weekly Theme - This week, students will be examining content pertaining to the creation of US Constitution, Presidencies of Washington, Adams, Jefferson and also early Westward Expansion! Students will be learning more about the story of how US government came to be, the accomplishments and shortcomings of the first three presidents and then also the story of early westward expansion!
Of course - a new notebook will be administered with new lessons and components that will be completed along the way!
HOMEWORK: FINISH UNIT VOCABULARY ASSIGNMENT DUE: MONDAY! (Assignment to be stapled to new notebook packet!)

OBJECTIVE:
SWBAT identify, describe, explain and evaluate the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution by taking guided lecture notes and viewing a video and answering questions.
SWBAT illustrate the Bill of Rights by completing an inquiry illustration assignment on their interpretations of each right.
METHOD:
Warm-Up/Question of the Day!
Notes - America's First Government - Students will take guided lecture notes on Articles of Confederation.
Video/Questions - Articles, Constitution and Federalism: Crash Course US History - Students will view video and answer questions
Bill of Rights Inquiry Drawings - Students will illustrate the Bill of Rights as they interpret each right.

SWBAT identify, describe, evaluate key accomplishments, shortcomings of Presidents Washington, Adams, Jefferson by completing a Presidential analysis.
METHOD:

Admirable Politician - Students will complete a worksheet analyzing key traits/attributes of ideal politicians.
Reading/Video/Questions - Presidencies of Washington, Adams, Jefferson - Students will read secondary sources, view video segments and complete analysis charts.
Presidential Decision Points - Students will answer higher-order thinking questions on key decisions made by Presidents.
