WEEK 19 - THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR!
Weekly Theme - This week, students will be completing lessons pertaining to the American Civil War! Specifically - students will be completing exercises and tasks that builds off their content knowledge learned from the chapter outline on the unit.
Of course - students will be completing the unit notebook packet and its corresponding lessons and exercises accordingly. Key parts of focus this week will be Presidents Packet, maps, key concept questions, primary document analysis, etc.

PLANNING AHEAD! - Students should work on Unit Vocabulary for Chapter 14 - And the War Came! Understanding key terms is integral to understanding the Civil War era.

SWBAT recall key content and key concepts of Civil War by partaking in review game.
SWBAT identify, describe, explain key causes to Civil War by taking guided lecture notes and analyzing wartime data/imagery
SWBAT identify, evaluate, justify, defend key personality traits, life story attributes, accomplishments, shortcomings and legacy components of President Lincoln by viewing a video, completing an analysis chart and completing decision points exercise.

Notes - Causes of the Civil War - Students will take guided lecture notes on causes of the Civil War
Video/Chart/Decision Points - #16 President Abraham Lincoln - Students will view video and complete chart analysis and decision points.

SWBAT put events in chronological order by completing a timeline worksheet. SWBAT identify key people to know from the era by completing a People to Know Chart.
