WEEK 13 - NEW INDUSTRIES / NEW POLITICs!

Weekly Theme - This week, students will be finishing content pertaining to the unit on Chapter 6, 7, 8 - Creating a Nation, Practicing Democracy and Expanding the Country! Then - they will be moving into the next notebook on New Industries / New Politics and Democracy in Age of Andrew Jackson! - Chapter 9 and 10!

Of course - final components of the previous notebook will be completed and then students will submit the notebook packet accordingly. A new notebook packet will be administered which will cover content in Chapter 9 and 10 of the AP US History curriculum!

HOMEWORK: CHP 8 - TIMELINE, PEOPLE TO KNOW, MAP AND HIPPO PRIM. DOC CHART DUE: MONDAY! / DEBATE FORUM PREP. - STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO COMPLETE PREP FOR DEBATE FORUM DUE: MONDAY!

-DEBATING PRESIDENTIAL LEGACIES / PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER!

OBJECTIVE:

SWBAT debate, evaluate, justify and defend roles, impacts and legacies of Presidents Washington, Adams and Jefferson by partaking in a debate forum.
SWBAT demonstrate key content knowledge and key competencies by partaking in a review game.

METHOD:

Warm-Up/Question of the Day!
Chapter 6, 7, 8 - Debate Forum - Debating Presidential Legacies - Washington, Adams, Jefferson - Students will debate, evaluate, justify, defend debate forum topic while completing notebook sheet.
Unit Jeopardy Review Game - Chapter 6, 7, 8 - Students will partake in review game and complete template in notebook.

SWBAT identify, describe, explain key political, economic and social characteristics of American History from early to mid 1800s by viewing a video and answering questions.
SWBAT identify, locate, designate key features of importance for American System and infrastructure by completing a map assignment.

METHOD:
