WEEK 30 - THE NEW DEAL !

Weekly Theme - This week, students will be continuing their unit on Chapter 21 and 22 - A Unique, Prosperous and Discontented Time and Living in Hard Times! Essentially - students will be learning more about the Great Depression and New Deal Era in US History!

Of course - Students will be continuing with their lessons in the unit notebook by completing key items and tasks like guided notes, video/questions and select activity/assessment worksheets.

HOMEWORK! - UNIT VOCABULARY FINISH / INQUIRY DRAWINGS - INVENTIONS OF 1920S AND NEW DEAL ERA!

PLANNING AHEAD! - Students will have resources posted for them for the key remaining tasks like timeline, people to know for both Roaring Twenties chapter and Great Depression / New Deal chapter!

OBJECTIVE:

SWBAT demonstrate key content knowledge of Presidents of 1920s and 1930s by partaking in review game.
SWBAT identify, describe, explain key characteristics, events and impacts of New Deal Era and Roosevelt Administration by taking guided lecture notes.
SWBAT demonstrate mastery of vocabulary / key terms by completing a vocab. word inquiry exercise.

Kahoot! - Review Game! - Students will partake in review game testing knowledge on Presidents Harding, Coolidge, Hoover and FDR!
Notes - the New Deal! - Students will take guided lecture notes on New Deal Era!
Vocab. Challenge - Students will match vocab. /key terms to pictures and corresponding clues.

New Deal - Programs, Social Security & FDRThe New Deal was a series of programs and projects instituted during the Great Depression by President Franklin D. Roosevelt that aimed to restore prosperity to Americans. A Second New Deal was put in place shortly thereafter as a way to continue the country's economic recovery.
