Hezekiah the King

Right from the beginning of his reign the godly King Hezekiah was determined to bring all his people back to God, for they had forgotten him.
Hezekiah reopened the doors of the temple, and he appointed priests to cleanse it, making it once more a holy place in which to worship.
False idols all over the land were destroyed, and the feast of Passover was reintroduced.
He attempted to bring a real unity to his people, as well as restoring their faith in God.
Imagine you are a king/queen for a week, and can make your own rules. Make lists showing:-
What you would like to wear each day?
What you would like to eat each day?
Who you would like to meet?
Where and to which places would you like to go?
What you would like to do with some of your money?
What it is that you would want for your people?
Which laws you would make?
Hezekiah pleaded with God to spare his life as he lay dying. He was healed and God gave him fifteen more years.
· What is the ideal age to live to and say why?
27 Hezekiah the King: 2 Kings 20. 1-11
(to the tune Bobby Bingo)
There was a very prayerful king,
whose name was Hezekiah.

H-E-Z-E-K-I-A—(H)
No-one was more dedicated
than King Hezekiah
He spent his life in building up
the people and the temple.
H-E-Z-E-K-I-A- (H)
H-E-Z-E-K-I-A—(H)
Drew his kingdom back to God,
he made it all quite simple.
This King obeyed all of God’s laws,
in fact no king did better.

No-one was more faithful,
he obeyed it to the letter!
One day when he was very ill,
the prophet said “You’re dying!”
Hezekiah cried “Alack!
please may I have my life back?”
So the Lord made him a pact, FIF-
TEEN more years he gave him.
Isaiah was that prophet then,
and this is what he told him,
“To show it’s true God gives this sign,
the sun will now go back in time!
See its shadow as it shines
ten steps down the stairway.”
