Visual Aid: Plastic Fruit AND REAL FRUIT                                                           

Compare real fruit with plastic fruit, and by holding up the fruit one at a time, I challenged the children to tell me which was the REAL thing.

If they thought the real one was in my left hand, they were to put up their hand on the same side, if they all thought the correct one was in my right hand they were to put their hand up on that side..

I went on to look at what the bible calls the fruit of the spirit in Galatians 5.22

...love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,

faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Then I compared these with their opposites, (the false fruit) of Galatians 5.19, making these fruits of darkness ‘children friendly’ by calling them,

… being rude, being wicked or nasty, hatred, arguments,

 jealousy, losing your temper, always wanting your own way, falling out with others.

Song: Teach the children the well known hymn chorus: The Fruit of the Spirit.

For the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace.

Patience, kindness, goodness.

Faithfulness, gentleness, self-control 

Of such there is no law.
