Shadow Drama ~ Palm Sunday

 Matt 21.1-9; Mark 11.1-10; Lk 19. 28-38

(The next three dramas:- Palm Sunday; Good Friday and Easter Sunday were written for a children’s activity morning.  A large white sheet with a strong light source behind it is needed, so that the children’s shadows are shown miming the actions, while the narrator reads out the poem. Shapes such as a cardboard donkey, palm fronds may also be used)

Jesus rode into the city,

So excited was the crowd

He sat upon a donkey,

And the beast was very proud.

The people waved palm branches,

And they shouted out aloud.

“Hosanna to the son of David,

Blessed be the King.

Hosanna to the son of David

Sing, Sing, Sing”.  (Repeat)

THEY WERE VERY EXCITED!

Jesus strode into the temple,

And spotted the temple cheats,

He turned their tables over,

And he threw them in the streets.

“What do you mean by this?” they yelled,

“Who do you think you are?”

“If you want to be our leader,

This won’t get you very far!”

My Father’s house is a house of prayer,

Don’t do that again!

For my Father’s house is a holy place,

It’s not a robbers’den!”

THEY WERE SO ANNOYED WITH JESUS.
