PhD students Amy Hagen and Mohammad Khorrami performed with the ITRAAB Music Ensemble at the Moss Arts Center (Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre) on Thursday, May 1, at 7 PM. Amy played the cello, and Mohammad played the santour and percussion.
PhD student Esther Oyedele received the Outstanding Graduate Student Leader award, following a nomination by members of the African Graduate Students Organization at Virginia Tech (AGSO-VT), where Esther currently serves as president. The award was presented during the annual Student Organization Leadership (SOL) Awards Night, hosted by Virginia Tech Student Engagement and Campus Life. Esther was also invited to serve as a keynote speaker at a reception for the Fralin Undergraduate Research Fellows.
The Friday Seminar was given by Dr. Anna Marshall of the University of Tennessee, on "Source of River Corridor Resilience." The talk was hosted by Research Assistant Professor Rachel Reid.
The Spring 2025 GEOS-4804/5804G (Advanced) Groundwater Hydrology lab met in the USLB for their final lab of the semester.
The Field Observations class led by Dr. Tina Dura went to Kentland Farms, where they cycled through four stations of hands-on experience: drone measurement, dGPS, LiDAR, and total station measurements.
