VT Majors Fair booth
The department booth was expertly and enthusiastically staffed at the Majors Fair on Wednesday, by undergrads Katie Hughes, Denycé Jasicki, Maddi Williams, and Benjamin Avellaneda, grad students Ella Davis and Elizabeth Curtiss, and faculty members Laura Neser, Marc Michel, and Maddy Schreiber.
Annual Museum talk: Bill Henika
Department of Geosciences Adjunct Professor Bill Henika presented this year's Museum of Geosciences talk, on "New Lithic Evidence of Prehistoric Migration Pathways to the Southern Appalachians."
Friday seminar: Dr. Johanna Teske
Last week's Friday seminar was given by Dr. Johanna Teske (Carnegie Earth and Planets Lab Carnegie Institution for Science), on "The First Population Survey of Small Planet Atmospheres with JWST." The visit was hosted by Professor Scott King.
GS(art)S Display is up!
A team of students including Amy Hagen, Cece Wood, Prescott Vayda, Helen Burch, Michala Puckett, and Sachiko Sakai have begun displaying artwork from last spring's GS(art)S event on the wall in the fourth-floor lobby!
Rough seas en route to Iceland
Professor Brian Romans reported from the drill ship JOIDES Resolution, "we are experiencing some rough seas (7 m waves) on the way back to Iceland."
