Ben Kligman successfully defended his PhD dissertation last week. Congratulations, Ben!
Ryan Pollyea and Lars Koehn visit core facility
Dr. Ryan Pollyea and PhD. student Lars Koehn visited the University of Texas Core Research Center while visiting VT alum, Dr. Andras Fall. The second picture shows Lars holding a 4” salt core in the temperature and humidity controlled storage room.

PhD student Lars Koehn presented at the SECARB/GOM-Carb Joint Partnership Meeting last week in Austin, TX. (SECARB is the Southeast Regional Carbon Sequestration Project).
Friday seminar: Dr. Lynn Wingard (USGS)
Last week's Friday seminar was given by Dr. Dr. Lynn Wingard of the U.S. Geological Survey on "The emerging field of conservation paleobiology and its role in restoration: Example from the Everglades." Dr. Wingard was hosted by Dr. Rachel Reid.
