Message from the pac Chairperson

We hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween. Next year we’ll be back to our Halloween Dance, along with all the great new traditions we’re sure you’ve come up with during this strange Halloween season.

It’s time to start thinking about holiday gifting! We have Purdy’s Chocolates and Spiritwear orders coming home to you now. Please consider checking two items off your to-do list; as of our yearly budget plans now, we have minimal fundraisers planned. We really need your support to be able to have funds ready when we are able to return to all the events and school improvements the PAC provides.

This month, we say a bittersweet goodbye to our Montessori families, friends, and teachers; lucky for us we get to keep them a couple weeks longer! We wish them all the best and continued success in their beautiful new Douglas Elementary home.

As Remembrance Day approaches, and we fight our own mental and possibly physical battles we are hopefully even more acutely aware of the challenges faced by our many loved ones lost and sacrifices of those mercifully returned to us. Lest we forget.

All parents are invited to attend our PAC meetings. All our meetings will be held online, through Zoom, which will hopefully allow more parents to attend.

Our PAC is still short a Vice-chairperson, a Treasurer, and a co-Fundraiser, so if you would like to join our executive team, please contact us at info@sunnysidepac.ca. We're always available to answer questions about what we do.

Show your school spirit with Sunnyside t-shirts and hoodies! Youth t-shirts have a large logo across the front. Hoodies, long-sleeve t-shirts, and adult t-shirts have a smaller logo on the left side of the chest. We've made a few changes this year by adding a long-sleeve option. We also chose to swap out some colours, replacing the light grey with a beautiful turquoise sapphire blue.

Orders are due Wednesday, November 18, and will either be delivered to your child's classroom, or will be available for pickup outside the school, depending on current BC Health protocols, on Friday, December 11. All orders must be placed Online.

Purdys Chocolate catalogues will soon be sent home with every student. Sunnyside receives 25% back from every sale! All orders must be placed Online, and are due Wednesday, November 25.

Small orders will be delivered to your child's classroom, but large orders, with multiple boxes, will be available for pickup on Tuesday, December 8. If it is meant to be a surprise Christmas present, please let us know!
