Message from the pac Chairperson

Happy New Year!! We hope everyone had a safe & relaxing winter break.

How fast the year is going! We say goodbye to another group of our Sunnyside families as they head to their new school at Edgewood Elementary this month. Good luck to all of you, we hope you thrive in your new community! A special thank you & goodbye to Elaine Cheung, our DPAC representative who will be heading to the Edgewood PAC as well.

With another member leaving, we are greatly in need of PAC executive members, please consider joining the team. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting, on January 14th @9AM.

Jennifer

"It takes a village to raise a child." (African Proverb)

In pre-pandemic years, Grade 7 parents would produce and host a farewell dinner and dance for their graduating children. In the likely event that this isn't possible, the Grad Committee can use the allocated funds toward an alternate way of celebrating this milestone, but the first step is creating a Grad Committee! If you would like to be part of the committee, either contact your Grade 7 child's teacher, or send an email to gina@sunnysidepac.ca.

Thank you for contributing to Sunnyside's school spirit! We love seeing students proudly displaying their school logo on their hoodies and t-shirts. We raised $464 toward our fundraising efforts.

We hope you and your loved ones enjoyed the tasty treats over the holidays. We raised a record $2842 in profit for Sunnyside, while supporting a Vancouver company, that started selling homemade chocolate in 1907.

The Grandview Heights Transition Committee meets once a month with Principal Darren Bedard. He welcomes any and all questions at grandview@surreyschools.ca. Construction is now over 80% complete. For construction updates, please visit the Grandview Heights website.
